Our Favorite TV + Console Mounts / On A Budget!

Recently we have been working on a ton of home projects, both big and small! We bought our condo a little over a year and half ago and until this year, we hadn’t really made any changes to it. Partially because 6 months after buying our condo, I started a new business and took the leap of working FULL-TIME for myself. This huge step was both exciting and terrifying, thus we didn’t rush into any home projects or additional expenses for a whole year to help alleviate such a massive change!

That brings us to now, where we are finally making both big and small changes to our condo to make it our home. Our first major project was creating this faux board and batten style wall in our living room.

This project was so fun, inexpensive and impactful in our living space! (Blog post on this project coming soon!) One major thing we wanted in our living room was more CLEAN LINES, less CLUTTER and less CORDS. Cords – the bane of my existence.

We knew we wanted to mount our TV and do away with our make shift entertainment center (it was my old dresser. lol) But that left us wondering what to do with our consoles. David and I have an XBOX One and a Wii U that we use to play the occasional video game and to watch TV and movies on. So we took to the internet and found that good quality gaming mounts would push us over budget for the project. So we clicked over to Amazon and after much deliberation we chose these 3 inexpensive mounts that David was CERTAIN would work. (Note: I on the other hand, was a little skeptical. A $30 TV mount for a 55in TV and two $13 console mounts?? It honestly seemed to good to be true and I was terrified I would wake up the next day to our TV and consoles on the floor with a massive hole in our living room wall!)

But this is the moment I eat crow. (It didn’t taste good at first, but now that I realize how much money we saved on mounts – it’s pretty darn delish! HA.)

This $30 TV mount is the one I am most impressed with! It comes with extension pieces so that it can fit TVs that range from 26in – 55 in TVs. It also comes with different screws for all different TV types and a little level to make sure you get it straight. It’s a great deal!

These $13 Console mounts are so simple and kind of blow my mind a bit! They let the systems breath (which is important so they don’t over heat) while still securing them safely to the wall. I think my favorite part was how easy they were to put up too! Let alone, they saved us $20 per console.

(IMPORTANT NOTE: When mounting anything heavy to a wall, make sure you secure your mounts to the studs or purchase some HEAVY DUTY wall anchors. The last thing you want is to find your expensive TVs and gaming systems broken on your floor. So take your time and do this part right!)

When we originally looked at mounts, we were looking at…

55in TV Mount – $99.99
Console Mount #1 – $34.99
Console Mount #2 – $34.99
Subtotal – $169.97

But after shopping around finding these inexpensive options, we spent…

55in TV Mount – $27.89
Console Mount #1 – $12.99
Console Mount #2 – $12.99
Subtotal – $53.87

That’s a grand total savings of $116.10!! WHAT A DEAL.

If your in the market for any mounts, we totally love these inexpensive options and we think you will too! If you grab a set, post about it on IG or facebook and tag us @ChrisiNikole on IG and let us know. And as always, if you have any questions, drop them in the comments below!

Until next time, Best + Blessings!

Styling Small Spaces | Series Alert!

It’s 2019 and small spaces, tiny homes and minimalism is still on trend and going strong. I wouldn’t consider David and I minimalists but we certainly are intrigued by tiny living and we’ve incorporated a lot of minimalistic ideas into our own 1,200 sq. ft. home. #CondoLife

We bought our first home this past November and it didn’t need much work at all! (Major selling point, indeed!) This gave us the ability to work mostly on making this space our own and within our budget. Which is why I get to share with you my first ever blog series about styling small spaces!

I’ll be sharing how I plan out a room refresh, set a practical budget and use design and color to make small rooms feel bigger and more open (without busting down walls! HA.) I’ll even show you how to freshen up a small space using things you most likely already have in your home, it will simply require a little creativity and imagination.

I am so excited about this series, which is why I couldn’t wait to tell you all about it! Making your home your own and on a budget is something I am super passionate about. I don’t believe for one second that you have to have a pocket full of cash and all new furniture to decorate your home and love it. Don’t believe me? Well follow along and see if I can change your mind. *wink wink* You do believe me? Great! You follow along too and maybe something will catch your eye and spark some creativity in you!

I’ll publish a new “Styling Small Spaces” post every Tuesday for the next 3 weeks! From a closet to a bathroom and from a patio to a pantry, you’re going to see it all and I hope you invite a friend. We all can use some creative inspiration now and then!

Until next time – Best & Blessings!
